Before you connect a USB
Siren to your PC the setup program must be run. This is on the CD that
came with the siren.
(When the CD is inserted, the
following screen will automatically run.)
(After you have read and
closed this guide, select ‘Click Here to Install Application’ to start
the installation.)
When you run the setup
program you will see the following.
After clicking ‘Next’,
select where you want the main program to be installed. It is often best to let
the PC choose (click ‘Next’ again.)
Click ‘Install’ and the necessary files
will be copied onto your PC:
You will see a green
‘progress bar’ showing how far the installation has to go:
Once all the files have been
copied across, the setup program needs to install the ‘USB drivers’ for the
Siren. The drivers are needed by the PC to be able to communicate with the
Siren.
Whilst the drivers are being installed
you will see the screen shown below:
This screen may be visible
for a couple of minutes on some computers. For the installation to be
successful, you must
wait until the dialog box shown below pops up:
The software is now fully
installed.
The first time you connect a
USB Siren to your computer, the PC will need a little time to locate the
drivers it needs in order to communicate with the siren. You will see ‘New
Hardware’ messages popping up at the bottom of your computer screen.
You should wait until the final message. This will read ‘Your new hardware is installed and
ready to use’.
